Adventure in the Beautiful Chilcotin Range Northwest of Pemberton BC
At the end of July my husband and I were fortunate to spend five days mountain biking in the beautiful Chilcotin Range. The Chilcotins are located roughly 100 km to the north west of Pemberton. The mountains are more rounded that those of the Coast Range, making for easier travel by bike. The region is a gem for anyone who likes to hike, ride or move through terrain by horse. Steeped in history the Chilcotins can be relatively easily navigated by the myriad of existing horse packing trails at all elevations.
Our first adventure consisted of an early flight into a remote mountain lake called Lorna Lake. The ride consisted of 55km of singletrack riding up and over two mountain passes and with a descent of roughly 4000ft.
There is nothing better than stepping out into the remote wilderness with your good friends and adventuring.
Two days later Johnny and I ventured out on our own for another adventure. A fabulous day of alpine riding combined with fabulous descents. Please click on a thumbnail located below for a larger view and slide show of our adventure.
